Create new innovations for your school and build your innovation capacity to lead! The AAIE Innovation Leadership Certificate program is for school leaders who want to learn how to grow innovation capacity through creating school innovations designed to meet the needs of their students and impact their schools. Participants will gain the skills and resources to create and implement real innovations within their school by learning the systematic approach to identifying and optimizing unique innovation opportunities. Join us to accelerate your change drivers, develop your essential conditions, create a unique implementation plan and foster a culture of innovation to lead your school’s innovation journey! All participants who complete this 2-day learning experience will receive the AAIE Certificate of Innovation Leadership and access to the online AAIE Innovation Leadership Discussion Group for ongoing support and sharing throughout their innovation leadership experience.

Learning Objectives:
Part 1 – Accelerate Your Change
• Design Thinking Skills & Processes
• Prototyping Skills and Processes
This certificate program is designed to equip school leaders with the knowledge and skills required to create new innovations for their school communities. Participants learn a systematic approach to identifying important learning opportunities and designing prototypes customized for their unique school contexts. Participants customize individual plans for leading their prototypes at their schools and take away guidelines, templates and customized action plans they have designed to impact student learning at their school.

Part 2 – Develop Your Essential Conditions
• Establishing & Growing the Essential Conditions for Successful Innovation
Participants are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish and grow a culture for innovation at their schools. The Essential Conditions for successful school innovation are developed through their experience leading prototypes they design during Part 1. Participants learn how to grow, develop and leverage the different Essential Conditions to support specific prototypes and foster a culture of innovation in their schools. Participants take away tools, resources and custom action plans for strategically establishing and growing the Essential Conditions at their school. Progress and ongoing expert support are provided online following the event via the AAIE Innovation Leadership Discussion Group.

Part 3 – Share Your Story of Innovation (Optional Publication)
Participants are encouraged to document their innovation leadership journey and tell their story after a year of leading the implementation, by writing an article for the internationally published AAIE InterED magazine or the AAIE Leadership CONNECTOR newsletter. Photos, videos and all creative means of sharing are welcome!
